Reporting to the Operations Manager, Mobile Medical Support Team, the Registered Practical Nurse’s (RPN) will be deployed out to High Priority Communities (HPC) throughout Windsor-Essex County to provide interdisciplinary Primary Care and social supports. The RPN will work either on the mobile unit or indoors at partnering agencies with the nursing team and client population, aid in health assessments, preventative care and screening, health teaching, working with and engaging HPC and Windsor-Essex Ontario Health Team (WEOHT) partners, and providing community resources to clients in identified HPC locations.

 

Background
Applications are now being accepted for two temporary Full-Time Registered Practical Nurse's to work with the MMS unit. The successful applicant will be required to work Monday-Sunday 0830-1630, 1000-1800, and 1200-2000. The commitment to this position is 75 hours per bi-weekly pay period. Please note, this position is anticipated to end on or before March 31, 2024.

 

Education
• Current Certificate of Competence with the College of Nurses

 

Experience
• IPAC and Wound care experience required
• Foot care experience is an asset

Skills and Ability
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills; able to engage and work cooperatively with internal and external stakeholders, individuals, diverse groups and interdisciplinary teams
• Able to work in stressful, fast-paced situations
• Able to work with a team or independently and analyze information, problem-solve, and make good decisions

 

Other
• General good health and a level of fitness appropriate for the demand of the position
• Physically capable of lifting and carrying supplies and equipment
