As a Pharmacy Manager at ESHC, you will have the opportunity to work with employees and help make ESHC an even greater place to work!

The incumbent will be responsible for overall leadership of the Pharmacy and associated delivery of quality services across the care continuum. The Manager provides day to day management and operational oversight and is a key member of the leadership team at Erie Shores Healthcare (ESHC). The successful applicant will be required to work days (occasional off hours), participate in a rotational weekend on-call model and will report to the Clinical Director, Outpatient Services. The Pharmacy Manager will practice in accordance with legislation and the standards as determined by their regulatory body and the practice setting.


• Responsible for day to day operations of the department including staff schedules and associated budgets.
• Assumes overall accountability and responsibility for the patient care and services provided.
• Maintains current knowledge of issues and trends in patient care and facilitating best practice.
• Facilitates implementation of corporate projects within the program, i.e., Quality Improvement Plan, etc.
• Develop and maintain standards, protocols, and policies/procedures in alignment with the regulations and expectations of the Ontario College of Pharmacists as well as ESHC.
• Develops and maintain familiarity with and adherence to regulatory requirements and ensure timely mandatory reporting as prescribed by the Regulatory body.
• Demonstrated participation in building a culture of safety and partnering with others to improve patient safety, processes and systems.
• Develops systems to monitor and manage unit operations, progress toward established goals, and patient care outcomes.
• Acts as a resource to the physicians and staff in relation to the care of patients and unit operations.
• Acts as a role model for staff and demonstrating commitment to patient/ family-centered care.
• Identifies opportunities for the delivery of optimal patient care and implements quality improvement initiatives to enhance the quality of patient care.
• Facilitates an interdisciplinary approach to problem solving and decision-making by the patient care team around program and patient care issues.
• Supports and assists Clinical Educators with the identification and planning of patient and staff education programs and in the orientation of new team members to the program.
• Consistently demonstrates advanced knowledge and expertise in the area of patient care.



• Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy or Doctorate of Pharmacy from an accredited School of Pharmacy.
• Registered as a part ‘A’ Pharmacist with the Ontario College of Pharmacists.
• Demonstrated leadership, supervisory, team, coaching, collaboration, conflict management, customer service and interpersonal skills.
• Demonstrated skills in change/project management and critical problem solving.
• Ability to interact effectively with patients and other health care professionals.
